We are committed to ensuring that winning players never lose money:
Refunds for Excess Winning Fees: If the total amount of winning player entry fees exceeds 80% of the prize pool, StreamStakes will issue refunds to winning players. This ensures that no player who correctly picks all of the winning songs ends up with less money than their original entry fee.
Example Breakdown
Here is an example to illustrate how this works:
- Prize Pool Formation: 100 players each contribute $10 as an entry fee, creating a total prize pool of $1,000.
- Company Revenue: StreamStakes takes a 20% commission: $1,000 × 20% = $200.
- Player Winnings: The remaining 80% of the prize pool: $1,000 × 80% = $800 is split among the winning players.
- Player Winnings: If 95 of the 100 players win, their combined entry fees ($950) exceed the prize pool’s 80% allocation ($800). In this case, each winning player is refunded their entry fee so that they do not receive less than their original $10 contribution.
Keep in mind that this scenario is highly unlikely and nearly statistically impossible.
